Mr. Sunil Galagama, a senior officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, commenced work as the Badulla District Secretary/Government Agent at the Badulla District Secretariat this afternoon (10) after engaging in all religious rituals and receiving blessings. Mr. Sunil Galagama, who joined the Sri Lanka Administrative Service in 2000, has commenced duties as the Assistant Director of the Department of External Resources.
Subsequently, the Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Order, the Deputy Controller of the Department of Immigration and Emigration, the Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi, the Advisor of the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration, the Additional District Secretary of Colombo,Senior Assistant Secretary to Parliament, Municipal Secretary to the Colombo Municipal Council, Municipal Commissioner to the Dehiwala Mount Lavinia Municipal Council, Additional Director General of the Department of Public Enterprises, Additional Secretary (Administration) to the State Ministry of Fertilizers, and Additional Secretary (Development) to the Ministry of Investment Promotion.
Before assuming duties as the Badulla District Secretary, he served as the Additional Secretary (Development) in the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.

The presentation of appointment letters to the chairmen of the Praja Shakthi Societies belonging to the Welimada Divisional Secretariat Division, implementing the "Praja Shakthi" national program aimed at eradicating poverty, was held on 10-02-2026 at the Welimada Divisional Secretariat Auditorium under the patronage of the Hon. Minister of Plantations and Community Infrastructure, Mr. Samantha Vidyarathna.
The event was attended by the Honorable Chairman of the Welimada Pradeshiya Sabha, Mr. Ajith Kumara Dissanayake, Welimada Divisional Secretary, Mr. Suneth Jinendrasena, Assistant Director of Planning, Mr. Gunapala Ratnayake, government officials and representatives of the Praja Shakthi Society.








The Independence Day program held at the Welimada Divisional Secretariat premises on the occasion of the 78th National Independence Day and the tree plantation program held at the new village where new houses were built in Welimada Watta









The Sirasa Gammedda program was held on 2026-01-26 at the Divrumpola Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, Welimada.


The program to provide school supplies to children of migrant families was held today, 2026.01.22, at the Welimada Divisional Secretariat with the support of the Foreign Employment Bureau.

Training program for community development council members in conjunction with the "Praja Shakthi" national poverty eradication campaign (first phase) was held 23rd of January at the office auditorium under the patronage of Welimada Divisional Secretary Suneth Jinendrasena and Welimada Assistant Planning Director Gunapala Ratnayake.
