With the full intervention of Mrs. Manjula Swarnamali, Rathkarawa Village Officer of Welimada Divisional Secretariat Division, dry rations for 25 elderly people, 02 wheelchairs and 12 crutches for people with difficulty in walking, school equipment for 75 children, 10 fully equipped computers and 06 computer monitors for Rathkarawwa Vidyalaya. this was held today (10) at Ratkarawa Temple under the chairmanship of Welimada Divisional Secretary Mr. WMC Weerasinghe.Ms. Darshan Perera and Mrs. Rebecca Perera, who are residents of America, have made a major contribution to this. Also, several people have contributed to this great event, and the value of these donated materials is close to 20 lakh rupees. The opening of the modern computer unit of Rathkarowa Vidyalaya was also done in conjunction with this program. For this occasion, the Lords including the Viharadhi of Rathkarowa Temple, the Assistant Director (Planning), the Administrative Officer, the Accountant of the Welimada Divisional Secretariat,  the Grama Niladharai, Philanthropist Mr. Darshana Perera and Rebecca Mrs. Perera, other philanthropists, government officials, beneficiaries and a large number of villagers were present.

Inauguration of Welimada New Court Complex

The opening of the newly built Welimada Court Complex with the aim of making the role of justice more efficient was presided over by His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe and with the participation of distinguished ministers and government officials on 03.11.2023.The opening of the newly built Welimada Court Complex with the aim of making the role of justice more efficient was presided over by His Excellency the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe and with the participation of distinguished ministers and government officials on 03.11.2023.460 million rupees have been spent on this three-storied court complex, which has been built with all common facilities including a district court, a magistrate court, office facilities, to facilitate the judicial affairs of the people of Welimada area.Minister of Judicial Affairs and Constitutional Reform Mr. President's Attorney Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Mr. Nimal Siripala de Silva, Ministers of State Mr. Anuradha Jayaratne, Mr. Thenuka Vidanagamage, Mr. Chamara Sampath Dasanayake, Mr. Aravinda Kumar, Member of Parliament Sudarshan Dapitiya Political authority including Mr. Uva Provincial Governor A.J.M.L. Mr. Muzammil, Chief Justice Mr. Jayantha Jayasuriya, High Court Judges, District Court Judges and Magistrate Court Judges, Badulla District Secretary Mr. Panduka Sri Prabhat Abeywardena, Welimada Divisional Secretary Mr. W.M.C. The opening of the new house built under the "Samurdhi Ranvimana" housing program in Cappetipola Samurdhi zone in Palugama town area was done yesterday under the leadership of Welimada District Secretary Mr. Chaminda Weerasinghe and Badulla District Samurdhi Director W.M.P. Vijayabandara.

DM Samurdhi Development Department has spent seven and a half lakh rupees for this house built for Mrs. Kaushalya. The finished value of the newly built house is around twenty five lakh rupees.

Welimada Samurdhi Bank Society Manager L.S. Mr. Bhuvanekabahu, Headquarter Development Manager Mr. Niroshan and others were present.

Celebrating the International Day of Older Persons -2023

"Towards Healthy Adulthood - Universal Elderly Rights from Generation to Generation"Welimada Divisional Secretariat and Welimada Divisional Elderly Committee jointly organized the Welimada Divisional Secretariat's International Day of Elderly in celebration of International Elderly Day 2023 at the office auditorium today (24).
A large number of elders representing the elderly societies of Welimada Divisional Secretariat attended this program which was held throughout the day with a medical clinic and various aesthetic activities.
Welimada Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr. Milinda Ratnayake, Assistant Director Planning Mr. Gunapala Ratnayake, Medical Superintendent of Welimada Base Hospital, doctors and nurses, and a group of elderly people including office officials were present for this occasion.

A program to identify the current status of Samurdhi recipients will be implemented to transform them into low income earners island wide in line with the vision of building prosperity in the country.

The Department of Samurdhi Development has launched a program to identify the current status of Samurdhi recipients in order to transform the low income community island wide into self-reliant high income earners in line with the vision of building the country.

Under the first phase, arrangements have been made to select one Grama Niladhari Division from each Divisional Secretariat Division in the country and make it a pilot project. The families currently receiving Samurdhi assistance will be identified separately as empowered families and non-empowered families and then the empowered families will be empowered based on their economic, social, environmental and legal factors.

This program is conducted in the Badulla District by the Badulla District Samurdhi Director W.M. Under the guidance and guidance of Mr. C. Wijaya Bandara, a pilot program has been launched in 15 selected Grama Niladhari Divisions in 15 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in the Badulla District.

Accordingly, on the instructions of Welimada Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary Chaminda Weerasinghe, the survey work of the Boralanda Grama Niladhari Division in the Welimada Pradeshiya Divisional Secretariat was carried out yesterday. They visited the homes of all Samurdhi beneficiaries in the Boralanda Division and surveyed their current information. Officers of the Badulla District Samurdhi Office, a group of Samurdhi Managers and Samurdhi Development Officers of the Welimada Divisional Secretariat and several community organization officials were present at the occasion.

                  Creating a happy and happy family with the aim of creating a better society

A program was held at Welimada to educate the public on child protection and the creation of a happy family with a view to creating a better society.

This event was organized by the Social Development Unit of the Samurdhi Community Based Banking Society of Welimada in parallel to the Drugs and Cigarette prevention, Home Management Pleasant Family Program implemented by the Ministry of Primary Industries and Social Empowerment.

The keynote address was delivered by SI Sisira Bulathsinghala, OIC of the Computer Crime Unit of the Bandarawela Police Division. Lakshmi Sri Kantha, Manager of Welimada Samurdhi Community Finance Bank Society and Priyantha Pushpakumara, Social Development Officer were also present.

The lectures were held with emphasis on safeguarding the safety of children, preventing them from becoming addicted to drugs and smoking, building a virtuous society with a focus on religion. Lectures were given with special emphasis on the protection of children and the establishment of a virtuous society with the emphasis on religion.

                                                                   construction of a new house for a low income family

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new house for a low income family in the Welimada Divisional Secretariat Division where there is no permanent residence was held yesterday (2020.11.30) under the patronage of Welimada Sri Lanka People's Front Electoral Organizer Indika Sampath Jayasundara.

The government has allocated Rs. 600,000 through the Housing Development Authority for the construction of this house, which is currently in operation under the Government's Home for a Village 'program.

Mr. Ranjith Liyanage, Member of the Welimada Pradeshiya Sabha, Mr. MHM Ajmal, Grama Niladhari of Helayal Kumbura Division, Mr. WMM Gunaratne, Samurdhi Development Officer, Mr. RM Geetha, Development Officer, Samadhi, Agricultural Research Officer were present at the inauguration ceremony. A large number of local residents were also present at the occasion.
