Preparation of high quality nutritious foods according to the local Ayurveda

 

According to the local Ayurveda, a training program was held recently at Welimada to educate the public on the preparation of healthier nutritional supplements and local spices.

Welimada Divisional Secretary Chaminda Weerasinghe and Badulla District Samurdhi Director The program was organized by the Welimada Samurdhi Social Development Unit under the guidance of Mr. Wijayabandara and held at the Welimada Samurdhi Bank Society Auditorium in Keppetipola.

The objective of this program is to build a healthy society through the improvement of mental and physical health of the people.

They were informed about the local spices used by our villagers in the past as well as how to prepare food in a safe manner. They were also educated on how to improve their mental and physical health by having a healthy diet free of poison.

The participants were given a hands-on knowledge of how to make noodles using ash extract, sausage using kohila and a nutritional supplement. Attendees were also given the opportunity to taste the food.

In this occasion , Medical Center of Diviththotawela Ayurvedic Medical Center U.K.S Dilusha, Mrs. N.A.R.R . Nissanka Medical Officer, Welimada Samurdhi Community Based Bank Society Manager, Mrs. LS Buwanekabahu, Social Development Officer Priyantha Pushpa Kumara and Manjula Saminda, Welimada Divisional Secretariat Regional Ayurvedic Subject Development Officer Mrs. Damayanthi Theldeniya Were together.
